How to find the stone that fits

People say β€œwhich crystal should I get?” The useful answer starts with the job, not the prettiest color.

  1. Name the job. Sleep, a desk, grief, a gift, a specimen you want to learn, a piece of jewelry. One job is enough.
  2. Look the stone up before you fall in love with it. Open the Observatory mineral of the day, or scan the mineral bank. Each card has a science note and a metaphysical note. The metaphysical note is a tradition people work with. It is not a promise that a stone will fix a life.
  3. Read the care warning. Some stones fade in sun. Some dissolve in water. A few are specimens you do not want against your skin. The card says so. Follow it.
  4. See what is actually on the shelf. The bank is a study collection of 171 names. The shop is what you can carry out today. If the stone you read about is not on the shelf, the people in the store can show you what is close, or what is simply in stock.
  5. Hold it. If you are in the shop at 160 W Campbell St, pick it up. A guide can narrow the list. Your hand finishes the choice.

For clearing a stone or a room after you bring it home, use the clean and clear guide.
