Nils Frahm
Nils Frahm
Born September 20, 1982, Nils Frahm is a Berlin-based composer and producer working from his studio at the Funkhaus, known for blending classical and electronic music through an unconventional layering of grand piano, upright piano, synthesizers, and drum machines. His breakthrough album, Felt (2011), took its name from the felt he placed on piano strings to soften the sound; other landmark releases include Spaces (2013, live recordings), All Melody (2018), and Day (2024), a solitary solo-piano album.
