Hennie Bekker
Zambian-born, Toronto-based composer and keyboardist Hennie Bekker, born in 1934, grew up surrounded by the symphonic sounds of the African wilderness before a long career as a bandleader and musical director across Southern Africa. Since relocating to Canada in 1987 he has released more than sixty albums, best known for his contributions to the Solitudes nature series created with Dan Gibson and his own Tranquility and African Tapestries series.
