Born March 19, 1990, Carlos Cipa is a Munich-based classically trained pianist, composer, and producer who moved through drumming and rock, pop, jazz, and electronic music before returning to piano composition. Influenced by both classical figures (Debussy, Ravel) and modern acts (The National, Mogwai), his catalog includes The Monarch and the Viceroy (2012), All Your Life You Walk (2014), Retronyms (2019), Correlations (on 11 pianos) (2020), Ourselves, as We Are (2023), and a 2024 interpretation of Hans Ottes The Book of Sounds.
