Born January 15, 1985, in Montreal, of Polish Jewish descent, Alexandra Streliski split her early childhood between Paris and Montreal, exposed to classical music from Bach to Rachmaninoff at home. Her minimalist, cinematic piano compositions have appeared in several Jean-Marc Vallee films, including Dallas Buyers Club and Big Little Lies. Her debut, Pianoscope (2010), went Gold in Canada; her 2018 follow-up, Inscape, won Instrumental Album of the Year at the Juno Awards and went platinum. In 2024 she headlined the Festival dEte de Quebec before 100,000 spectators – a historic first for a neoclassical artist in that setting.
