German-American musician Suzanne Doucet (b. 1944) was an established pop star in Germany by age 18 before taking a spiritual sabbatical in her mid-twenties that reshaped her musical direction entirely. She recorded Essig and Oel in 1975, among the first New Age albums made in Europe, founded her own Isis Music label in 1979, and later opened Only New Age Music, the worlds first dedicated New Age record store, in Hollywood in 1987.
