American pianist and composer Kevin Kern, born Kevin Lark Gibbs in 1958 in Detroit, has been legally blind since birth and began playing piano at four years old. Discovered in 1995 by Real Music founder Terence Yallop while playing in a San Francisco hotel, he went on to release seven albums for the label, including In the Enchanted Garden and The Winding Path, all charting on Billboard’s New Age chart.
