Born in Santa Barbara, California, Joss Jaffe began writing songs at nine and later studied sarode and vocal music under Ali Akbar Khan starting in 1997, and tabla under Swapan Chaudhuri and Zakir Hussain. Known for his work across new age, world, reggae, and electronic genres, he has collaborated with Mykal Rose, Jai Uttal, and Donna De Lory. His four solo albums include the acclaimed Meditation Music (2019), which debuted in the Top 10 of Billboards New Age chart, and Dub Mantra.
