Suren Shrestha
Suren Shrestha
Suren Shrestha was born in Nepal, in a village where healing was traditionally carried out by herbalists, monks, and medicine men using drums, gongs, and mantras. He came to the United States as a teenager and earned a B.S. in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in environmental studies, then returned to Nepal to study traditional Tibetan sound-healing methods, completing apprenticeships in singing-bowl work under several teachers. Now based in Boulder, Colorado, he co-founded the Atma Buti Sound and Vibrational School, an internationally recognized training center and an approved continuing-education provider for the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Bodywork. He is the author of How to Heal With Singing Bowls: Traditional Tibetan Healing Methods (2012), which includes a companion CD of guided bowl-based sessions.
