Born in 1934, Don Conreaux began his exploration of yoga as a teenager under Paramahansa Yogananda, receiving Kriya initiation in 1953. He was one of the five original Kundalini Yoga teachers designated by Yogi Bhajan in 1969, and went on to establish the Nanak Dwara Ashram Teacher Training in Phoenix, Arizona (1970-1976). From there his focus shifted toward sound, and he originated the Gong Yoga of Holistic Resonance, the title Gong Master, Gong Therapy, the Gong Puja, and Gong Master Training in the Way of the Gong. Since 1984 he has traveled internationally teaching this work, and today hundreds of his students carry it forward around the world.

Legacy and Influence: Conreaux is widely known within the sound-healing field as the Grand Gong Master, credited with originating the modern Western gong-therapy movement and the title Gong Master itself. His Gong Master Training lineage – carried forward by students including Aidan McIntyre and Sheila Whittaker – continues to shape how gong sound baths are taught and practiced internationally today.
